“That’s what winter is, an exercise in remembering how to still yourself then how to come pliantly back to life again.” – Ali Smith
I KNOW—almost a year ago (maybe more) I left you all with the post that I was going to clean house in anticipation of my 60th High School Reunion.
Well, I cleaned all right but then myriad other events occurred in that busy year that entailed cleaning and re-cleaning. Then I had a really bad time with my wonderful Russian Blue cat that I adored. To make it short, she developed diabetes and kidney problems. The vet and my son-in-law made Herculean efforts to save her, but to no avail. So what followed then was a depression. I am just now feeling like I am coming out of it—so dear readers, you are stuck with me again if you so choose.
I remembered that somehow typing my feelings and sending them into the great void was cathartic. I hoped many would read and reply or just read and then—pass along my offered musings to others they knew and I would have a mammoth following. I thought if I could reach out to many and perhaps hear back it would break the monotony of the life of a retiree.
Don’t get me wrong, I am still cleaning and hanging out with friends when I can, and still serving as a Prayer Warrior for my church. I also have cornered the market on quite a few books (thanks to THRIFTBOOKS), as I am old school and love to hold the book, and use a bookmark and return to it to hold it once again. I read a bit online, but I am very set in my reading habits and will probably go on to glory being just that way.
So—“She’s back”--I hope you will join me when I truly re-boot with my next blog entry.
Hello again to all who have followed me and to those who have stumbled upon my blog in your scouring of the internet. Hope you take time to read some of the older entries you missed and will stay tuned for the 2026 entries yet to be written and posted.
